Writing about books, food and slow weekends

Small things I liked in October

14 Jul 2025

Nothing dramatic happened, but I came home in a much better mood. Most of the afternoon went by without me noticing. I am trying to write here more often, even if the posts are short. A friend recommended it years ago and I finally got around to it.

By the evening the light was soft and everything looked a little kinder. If you have a favourite version of this, I would love to hear about it someday. It reminded me how much I enjoy doing one thing at a time.

I still have a few pages left to read, so maybe more on this later. The recipe is simple, the trick is to be patient with it.

The first attempt was a small disaster, the second one was surprisingly good. There is a bakery on the corner that opens before sunrise, and I have become a regular. Sometimes the best plan is to leave the phone at home and walk.
