Cooking pasta again

12 Nov 2024

The weather changed three times before noon, which is normal around here. I still have a few pages left to read, so maybe more on this later.

I took the long way back, past the old houses near the water. I did not plan much this time, and it turned out to be the best part. It reminded me how much I enjoy doing one thing at a time. I wrote a few lines in my notebook and then simply watched people pass by.

It is funny how the smallest routines end up holding the whole week together. There is a bakery on the corner that opens before sunrise, and I have become a regular. A friend recommended it years ago and I finally got around to it. Most of the afternoon went by without me noticing.

Sometimes the best plan is to leave the phone at home and walk. By the evening the light was soft and everything looked a little kinder. The recipe is simple, the trick is to be patient with it.
